Consumer-directed services (CDS) is a program that allows those with certain qualifications to select a personal care attendant responsible for their care. These attendants can be qualified family members or friends over 18; however, specific individuals, such as spouses, are not eligible. The CDS program allows individuals with disabilities to receive care in the comfort of their homes instead of being cared for in in-patient facilities.
